The Movida party at V is an annual tradition. How did it all start? Dan: 4 years ago Movida first came to Stockholm, it was organized by Filip Ljungberg who is a close friend of ours and at the time he was living in London. Since then the relationship with V, through Uffe (von Roth, reds anm.) and Kristoffer (Ahlbom, reds anm,), has grown. With London being the 4th biggest Swedish city and so close to London we now share a great many guests, clients and friends. Plus Movida had several key managers and staff who are Swedish, headed up by Jin Nilsson.
Tell us about your best memory from the Movida parties in Stockholm! Jin: Apart from being thrown out of my own party for being a little too drunk on a recent party! Well, a good Swedish friend waking up fully dressed in a sauna the next afternoon! I can't say that I remember much of what happens at V.
Stockholm's nightlife vs. London's - which is the best and what can we learn from each other? Dan: They are very similar - except we can drink spirits much later and dance on the furniture. Plus there are generally some decent parties on every night of the week in London. Where as Stockholm is much more weekend based. I love good house music, plus the Scandinavian dress sense and style (so much I might even marry one soon).
What can the guests expect tonight? Jin: I expect it to be pretty busy!! We're flying in our best dj - Kevin O'Leary who plays for all our international events and does the biggest celebrity parties in London, he will be joining us for all of this 5th anniversary tour so I'm sure the music will be fantastic. The rest is up to V.
V is already Sweden's most exclusive nightclub. What, if anything, can you do to get on the guest list for tonight? Jin: That's a secret. I'm guessing the lists are full and closed and all the tables booked by now, but myself, Kristoffer or Dan might be able to help...
